Wow, I’m speechless! This morning I received a letter in the post from some old friends of mine. What friend’s they are. True friends. The guys you can always count on.

“We heard about your nominations Mark, Riaan sent us an email. We just want you to know, we got your back! Chuck’s been practicing his roundhouse kick and said he will come over if there’s any “problems”. I pity the fool that tries to beat you. I would come over with Chuck, don’t get me wrong, I ain’t afraid of no airplane, it’s just, I got a haircut on Wednesday. David posed for the picture we attached, but he’s a bit emotional at the moment, specially after the divorce, so he didn’t have much to say.

Just remember one thing. I believe in the Golden Rule — The Man with the Gold . . . Rules.

Its been about 10 days since I discovered my mother’s weed bush. What has been happening lately in this saga? In a dramatic turn of events, the weed’s health has been jeopardized by none other than …. Emma (our dog). That’s right, I recieved this email this morning from my mother:

“Guess what has happened to M.P. (My mother’s lingo for Marijuana Plant)?! Emma dug a huge hole (thanks to Andy (my brother) who left them in the back garden) and she half ate/half dug it up!!!! So, sorry it is now struggling to survive….. have watered it and tried to get it back upright after all the soil landed on top of it (AND MY BEAUTIFUL PINK FLOWER NEXT TO IT).”

My brother even had a premonition on Monday that this was going to happen, pretty freaky.

Emma must have been formulating a plan of attack. Cunning little girl. Look at her guilty little face.

Will the Marijuana Plant survive, or is this the end …. Stay tuned to find out.

You thought you were having a tough time at work, need I say more:

I was wondering how to categorize this article, thought maybe under “Funnies”, but it isn’t that funny. Poor bugger.

Now is this coincidence … that on MNET there is a TV program about a single mother growing weed (funny enough called “Weeds“), selling it to her whack nextdoor neighbours, and in my mother’s back garden a little weed bush growing?

Yesterday, as I was braaing with my boet in my mother’s back garden I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Behind the weber, in the flower bed. Could it be? I had found a small, but very healthy looking marijuana plant.

Is my mother a drug dealer? Hmmm… my brother and me are now both wondering.

I could really go to town on this article and make up some great story how she is selling to her friends in Lakeside. But, I am quite sure she is not, and I am sure I could send her to jail if some police officer were to read this. Oh how I love the power of a blog!

The conversation we had was as follows:

Mark: “Ma why is there a marijuana plant growing in our back garden?”
Mom: “What!! Show me”
We both walk into the back garden.
Mark: “Right thurr” (pointing to the marijuana plant)
Mom: “Is that what it is, I’ve been watering that plant for the last week waiting for it to bloom!”

P.S. The sign next to the “blooming plant” reads “May all my weeds be wild flowers” which we found in another flowerbed about 10m away from this little guy. Coincidence?
