Well they say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but when someone quite blatantly steals not only your design, but your idea it can be a little more insulting.

RegatorRegator, a new blog aggregator, has received quite some media attention today with articles in Read Write Web, Techcrunch and on Mashable.

None of the articles posted seem to mention its uncanny resemblance to our Afrigator.com. Perhaps because our service was developed and is focussed on deepest, darkest Africa they thought they could get away with it, without anyone noticing?

Nelson Mandela\'s 90th Birthday Party - 46664 Concert at Hyde Park

On Saturday we braved the masses of face-painted, flag waving, brandy and coke drinking South Africans living in London and congregated at Hyde Park for Nelson’s 90th Birthday Bash.

The party was not only packed with appropriately 46 664 screaming Mandela fans, but a star-studded cast of performers and supporters. Live music was provided by the Soweto Gospel Choir, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Razorlight, Queen & Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Sugababes, Johnny Clegg, Sipho Mabuse, Josh Groban, Jamelia, Eddy Grant, Loyiso, Andrea & Sharon Corr, Simple Minds, to name but a few!

Below are a few of my highlights of the evening, together with some of the clips of the official TV broadcast – which I hope will stay up on Youtube. (more…)

Into the wild

Last weekend I finally got around to watching “Into the wild” and now i’m blogging about it, even though the movie was released in 2007 and has been reviewed plenty of times.

Into the wild recounts the life of Christopher McCandless, an actual student-athlete at Emory University, as told by his sympathetic sister. In response to a materialistic, manipulative, and domineering father, McCandless destroys all of his credit cards and identification documents, donates $24,000 (nearly his entire savings) to Oxfam, and sets out on a crosscountry drive in his well-used but reliable economy car towards his ultimate goal: to live alone and off the land in Alaska.
