As most South African bloggers, and South African blog readers, know Afrigator Alpha launched in the first week of April. Afrigator is a blog aggregator for the African continent. News about the launch has flown around the blogosphere and already a large amount of blogs have signed up with the service.I was approached by Mike Stopforth and Justin Hartman 4 days before the leak of the news of the launch, and requested to design a logo for the website, as well as a branded interface. Over the weekend I agonised over colour combinations, font types, and vector aligator sketches and came up with the end result that is now being broadcasted over the blogosphere.

I must say it is quite awesome to see my badges plastered over African blogs and read the stories of people who have raved about the system, and its design. There is still much work to be done for the Beta launch, but working alongside Mike and Justin is a pleasure.

Represent is a specialized one-stop, all inclusive information portal. It’s a lifestyle blogazine that has an eclectic mix of entertaining and enriching content ranging from the arts to technology. The website is based on a WordPress content management system.

Retna Pictures is one of the largest independent photo agencies in the world. Their unique collection includes celebrity, music, stock/lifestyle, fashion and event photography from the turn of the century to the present day. There are now over 1,500,000 images online, with new material added daily from sources across the UK and overseas.

“Operating out of the Simonstown waterfront in Cape Town,Two Oceans Sport Fishing Charters offer a professional charter service for Sport Fishing, Spear Fishing and Pelagic Birdwatching. For fishing charters we cater for both conventional tackle and fly fishing enthusiasts.“

David Christie of Two Oceans Sport Fishing Charters required a website to be designed that would portrays its professionalism in sport fishing and pelagic bird watching. He also required the website to be easy to maintain and update with catch reports and bird sightings. WordPress was therefore the obvious choice for his web solution.

The blogging facilities have been moved from the normal home page location to the Catch Reports and Pelagic Trip Reports pages. Custom made blogging templates were made to display only a particular blog category on each page. The wordpress template design is unique in it’s style and instantly delivers the company’s services.

Photoshop was used to create the scratched effect in the header image and the company’s boat, “The Obsession” has been deep etched and placed on a deep blue sea.
