I’ve just downloaded a video quicktag plugin that allows you to post YouTube, Googe Videos, WMV and MPEG files into your blog posts. The bonus of this plugin is that your post code remains completely XHTML vaild code.

Anyways enough about that. I downloaded this plugin specifically for this video clip, it’s that good! Have a look at this jaw-droppingly brilliant guitarist, Jake Shimabukuro, play “While my guitar gently weeps”.

Incredibly cheap MP3s

All of MP3

I recently heard of a Russian MP3 download site, www.allofmp3.com, that sells mp3s dirt cheap, and apparently it is all completely legal. When I say cheap I mean $1.49 cheap, for an entire CD, thats like 10 rand a pop.

The question I have for you all is this:

Has anyone bought any MP3s from AllofMP3.com?

If you have, and your savings are still in your bank account, let me know, and I’ll be a registered user in a flash.

It does say this on the site, but I still can’t quite believe the price:

“The availability over the Internet of the ALLOFMP3.com materials is authorized by the license # LS-3М-05-03 of the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society (ROMS) and license # 006/3M-05 of the Rightholders Federation for Collective Copyright Management of Works Used Interactively (FAIR). In accordance to the licenses’ terms MediaServices pays license fees for all materials downloaded from the site subject to the Law of the Russian Federation “On Copyright and Related Rights”. All these materials are solely for personal use. Any further distribution, resale or broadcasting are prohibited. “

R10 a CD!

Colab Concert Cape Town

Colab Concert Cape Town

On Saturday, me and a few other thousand went to the Coca Cola Colab Concert at Green Point Stadium. I’m not going to moan about getting my chewing gum confiscated by the security dudes at the gates, only to walk past some bad ass goth thrashing a long leather whip inside the stadium. Neither am I going to moan about the hour long queue for beer, and closing the bar before Metallica. Metallica and beer go hand in hand! You see I’m not usually a guy that complains. I’m a nice guy.

The music was unbelievable though, worth every penny. Simple Plan rocked the stadium, Seether made every single head in that crowd bang, Rasmus have some scary looking European dudes, Collective Soul sounded cool… from the beer queue, and Metallica were absolutely legendry. It was also great to see the SA bands drawing some huge crowds, and getting some big media attention.
Some dude, lets call him Eric :), took these fantastic photos using a W800i just like mine. I hope Big Concerts don’t find out. The picture quality looks brilliant, except when the zoom is used.

PLEASE NOTE: The average-reader-friendly article as promised in my previous post.

Audiri is great for all of you that hate most of the commercial junk that is on the radio at the moment. The site allows for smaller bands to post their music and music videos (200mb of space per band) and get some great exposure, worldwide. Web surfers can download any track they like off the site and spread the love.
“The powerful search function lets you find music you have never heard that fits your taste and is actually good.”

Check it out, I’m downloading a couple of tracks as I write.
