It’s midnight and my girlfriend and I have decided there is no point in going to bed as in 3 hours a taxi will be picking us up and taking us to Gatwick Airport. From Gatwick we head to Milan, Italy followed by a 5 hour bus trip up high into the Italian Alpes. Livigno is our final destination and home for 1 week of fun in the snow.

It is our first time skiing so I expect to come back with a lot of bruises, hopefully no broken bones, and lots of good memories. I probably haven’t packed enough warm clothes, but i’m hoping my thermal undies protect me from the -10 degree celcius temperatures… (more…)

This wordpress template is feature rich with a mootools slideshow displaying featured articles professionally and attractively, lots of advertising banner spaces with complete control over what is displayed from within the wordpress backend panel, a clever little video player that can be positioned on the home page, and different colour options & home page layout structures for the theme at the click of a button. The heat is on in the battle between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the American Democrats votes, as is evident in the global press over the past weeks. This post doesn’t have much to do with American politics though. I’m not going to say which candidate I favour, in fact I don’t have much of an opinion because I haven’t been following the story much, apart from the occasional skim read over an article in the newspaper.

I did decide to have a look at both Obama and Clinton’s websites though, just out of curosity. I was impressed. Of course they probably spent hundreds of thousands, if not a few million on their website, but at least they got their money’s worth.

Barack Obama’s Website

Obama’s website is clean and clutter free. It makes use of a fresh blue color palette that doesn’t scream “Oh, say! can you see by the dawn’s early light…“. The image of Obama peering into the distance behind his logo is somewhat cheesy though. (more…)
